Armageddon 2026? Part Five Picking up from where we left off at the end of Part Four. . . So, what is it that we, collectively and individually, as members of the Church that God designed, are to be focused on in a world that appears to be spinning out of control, and headed for the Battle of Armageddon, and all the horrific events that are going to precede it? The primary mission of the Church that God established in Jerusalem around 33AD has not changed; nor will it. Human souls become a part of the Church that God designed the moment they are born-again, having believed when presented with the unadulterated Gospel Message. Born-again believers embrace and advance in post (after) salvation discipleship via the ongoing study and application of the Word of God. Regardless of where advancing disciples find themselves on a daily basis, they are there to be ambassadors for the Kingdom of God. Every born-again believer has already become a qualified “evangelist,” as he or she had to have had an understanding of the unadulterated Gospel Message himself, in order for him to have been born-again. Now having this knowledge, he or she is qualified and commissioned to pass it along to others as he or she goes about his or her daily activities, when God gives him or her the opportunity to do so. Discipleship, on the other hand, takes time, and is an ongoing process that should never end. With the help of the fallen nature within us, we seem to find the time for just about anything else, but struggle to remain focused on the things that can edify our souls. We can spend hours on end doing what we have to do to make money, listening to the latest gossip, watching the trash, or listening to the many sources of human viewpoint that the devil’s world has to offer, but can’t focus on doctrinal teaching for twenty minutes. It is by no coincidence just as a point of doctrine is being communicated that someone or something distracts the attention of the one we are trying to evangelize or edify. Experienced pastor-teachers can tell you that it is easier to edify a former atheist than it is to edify a newly born-again believer coming from a religious background. This includes “Christian religion,” consisting of all that Man has added to or deleted from the Word of God, in teaching or practice. In many cases, before newly born-again believers who come from a religious background can begin to build and apply a Matt. 7: 24-27 Biblically-edified soul structure, he or she has to go through a period of deconstruction, ridding one-self of all the false doctrines and accompanying practices that had been a part of his or her previous “religious” experience. The religious traditions of men (1) grow deep roots and are not easily removed or replaced. The devil will see to that! After being confronted with the inevitable Luke 14: 26 and Mark 4: 19 challenges of discipleship, many weak believers conclude that their former religious ways were good enough (2), and go no further along the road to spiritual maturity. It is certainly easier to just check in for an hour or so, fulfill one’s sense of obligation, and go through the motions, than it is to live the life of discipleship 24/7. The good news is that weak, born-again believers remain saved (3), The sad news is that many will never become all that God wanted them to become for His glory and their benefit. One can only be used by God to edify others to the extent that he or she has first advanced along the road to spiritual maturity. Spiritual maturity is measured by the amount of accurate Bible Doctrine that he or she has learned, coupled with his or her willingness to apply it. An ambassador is fully versed on the agenda, objectives, and policies of the kingdom that he or she represents. An ambassador refrains from expressing his or her own views, should they differ from that of the Kingdom he or she represents. The agenda, objectives, and policies that we, as an ambassador for Christ are to promote, are laid out in the pages of Scripture. When we add to or neglect what is already there, we are drifting off course and headed for uncharted waters. (1)Matt. 15: 8, 9 (2) Luke 5: 39 (3) Rom. 8: 1 End of Part Five
