A Thanksgiving Prayer
The strangest dream, had come my way,
When I dozed off, Thanksgiving day.
We were all there, ready to share
The turkey meal, with those who care.
Then it hit me, to my surprise,
What I had not, yet realized.
Those seated there, were cherished souls,
Some who had passed, some years ago!
When I awoke, saddened was I,
By empty seats, now standing by.
But new faces fill, the seats I see,
As time moves on, ‘till Eternity,
When there we all, give thanks to Thee.
