God created Man after the prehistoric angelic rebellion that resulted in the devastation of the Earth’s surface (Gen. 1: 2/Jeremiah 4:23, 26).
Note that if the Angelic Conflict did not or does not play a significant role in the creation and purpose for the human race, then God would not have included it in the pages of Scripture.
The purpose for God creating Man was to bring glory to Him during Phase Two of the Angelic Conflict.
By divine design, Man was to be created as an inferior being in comparison to the angels (Hebrews 2:7), and without having the experiential evidence of God that the fallen angels had prior to their Fall. By using the free will that God gave to the human race, human beings in the capacity of inferior creatures not only brings the greater glory to God (John 20: 29), but justifies the impending sentence that has been given to the devil and the fallen angels.
The devil was created in the capacity of a cherub who served in the very throne room of God Ezekiel 28:14) in the third heaven. In his created form, the devil and all of God’s angels glorified and worshiped the Lord. At some point in Eternity past, the devil declared his independence (Isaiah 14: 13) and led at least one third of the angels in Heaven in what proved to be a failed revolt. Satan and the fallen angels were sentenced to spend all of eternity in the lake of fire (Matt. 25: 41) as a result of their choice to reject God and the things of God and then engage in the failed revolt.
This revolt took place before the creation of Man, but the execution of angel’s sentence will not take place until (among other things) the justice and appropriateness of the sentence given to the devil and his fallen angels is confirmed by human success where the fallen angels failed. It is by no coincidence that Phase Two of the Angelic Conflict runs concurrently with human history.
In order to confirm the justice of the sentence given to the devil and the fallen angels, divine design called for Man to be created as inferior beings (Hebrews 2:7) and without having the experiential evidence of living in Heaven, as did the angels who chose to rebel. With these limitations, Man would have to come to God by faith and without the experiential evidence that the angels had been afforded.
By doing so in the capacity of inferior beings and without the experiential evidence that the angels had, the justice of the impending sentence is confirmed.
The appointed time for the execution of this sentence (Rev. 20) takes place at the end of the human environment as we know it to be today. It will be as of that time that Man’s part and purpose for which God created Man will be completed.
In the meantime, each and every soul that GOD (John 3: 6) creates throughout the course of human history plays its individual part by making choices that either glorifies or rejects God and the things of God. The souls in each generation of Man were and are held accountable to God in light of the degree of information that was made to each soul after reaching the age or stage of moral accountability.
Here in the Church Age, we have the privilege and the RESPONSIBILITY to having had God's entire plan of salvation being made available to us. This is what the GOSPEL MESSAGE is all about. Those who choose to believe the Gospel Message are born again (John 3: 5, 7), and by doing so have resolved the issue of the their personal salvation for ALL of eternity, regardless of whatever else does or does not take place. Once born again, the soul THEN has the opportunity to bring additional glory to God by identifying and executing the type of post salvation spiritual life that God desires. The devil desires that the soul to try to pursue such objectives via all the alternatives that he (the devil) can produce or promote in the name of religion or by the performance of human good. The devil promotes these concepts as it provides his world (Luke 4: 6) of all the benefits that human good has to offer, while denying God the glory that would have otherwise been His. Denying God the glory and establishing a functional kingdom apart from God has been the long stated desire (Isa. 14: 13) of the devil. The production of human good is a central part of the human existence, but it will profit NOTHING in the spiritual realm (Mark 8: 36) for those involved who leave God out of the picture.
The final chapter of human history has already been written in the Divine Decree, but like most arrogant rebels, the devil has fought its manifestation in the way that God has decreed all the way. He will continue to do so to the extent that the permissive will of God allows. Each and every day a soul who has reached the age or stage of moral accountability makes choices that results in victories" for one side of the Angelic Conflict or the other. Accordingly, it DOES matter what each one of us chooses to do think, say, and do during our time here on Earth.
The Bible NEVER stated that (prior to the event) would the majority of the world's population become "Christian", or that the majority of those born again would enter into or remain in the type of post salvation spiritual life that God desires. In fact, "few" spoken of in Matt. tells us just the opposite. Secular statistics report that that only 1/3 of the present world population identifies itself with one of the various sectors what most would consider to be a part of the Christian Community.
I believe that if the Rapture were to take place during worship services, there would be many so-called "Christians" left behind sitting in the pews or standing behind the pulpits. If this should be prove to be correct, even the 1/3 figure would be dramatically reduced.
Being brought up in a Christian home or in a period of history (if) when one's familial and social environments were predominately Christian, can leave one with the impression that the majority of the world has been "saved" and are headed to Heaven. This has NEVER been the case!
Furthermore, since only a minority of those who have been born again ever enter into or remain in the post (after) salvation life of discipleship (learning and applying the Bible), only a minority of those who are headed for Heaven will receive the rewards spoken of in 1 Cor. 3: 12-15). These facts, and the reality of such passages as (Luke 12: 52) can be either the basis for much consternation or great motivation to reach out to unsaved or unedified members of our families. The reality of (Matt. 13: 57) can then become a painful realization.
God desire that ALL souls be saved (1Tim. 2: 4), but forces NO ONE to believe that makes this possible (John 3: 18. The atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ made it p-o-s-s-i-b-l-e for every soul to be saved (1John 2: 2), but such passages as Rev 20: 13, 15 and Matt. 7: 13, 14 ) make it clear that there will be many souls joining the devil in the lake of fire as a result of rejecting the Gospel Message (John 3: 18). The will also be many souls in Heaven who will forfeit (1Cor. 3: 12-15) many of the additional rewards and privileges that they could have otherwise received IF they had chosen to pursue the post salvation spiritual life.
Perhaps more than in any other scenario will the reality of the daily combat of the Angelic Conflict become clearer than when we have developed the spiritual discernment to see it taking place in the lives of those we interact with on a daily basis.
The internal mission given to Church was (and remains to be) making disciples (students and appliers) out of those who are born again, but there can be a valid argument that this is NOT what is taking place within MANY sectors of the so-called "Christian Community" of our day. If these conditions were not foretold (1 Tim. 4: 1/ Rev. 1, 2, 3)in Scripture, one would be without an answer as to the present state of affairs that "Christian Community" at large is finding itself in, here in the END TIMES.
As stated in the footer of this website, keep in mind that, "Just because the world at large is going down the toilet, doesn't mean that we have to go with the flow!" The intangible Church that God designed will remain here on Earth until the Rapture takes place, but the same can not be said for the alternative "Churches" that Man has designed.
We did not choose to be born into a hostile environment, nor do we have any option other that to decide which side of the conflict we are going to support, and which side we are going to oppose. If we are at war with the devil, we are at peace with God. If we are at peace with the devil, we are at war with God. There is NO neutral territory in the spiritual realm.
The devastated surface of the Earth (Genesis 1:2/Jeremiah 4: 23, 26) had to be restored to its originally-created condition. In doing so, Man was provided with the same (garden) environment that the devil and the angels experienced on Earth (Ezekiel 28: 13), prior to its destruction at the end of Phase One. God returned the Earth to its original (Genesis 1:1) condition in a restoration process that is documented in
Gen. 1: 2-31.
The veracity of this Chapter of Scripture is one of oldest and hotly contested section of the Bible. The diabolical objective is to plant the seeds of doubt in the human souls concerning the reliability of ALL that the Bible ha srevealed to Man, and to have Man focus on anything but what the Bible was intended to convey. It is a part of Satan’s strategy to have less significant issues, such as the age of the Earth and the age of humanity take center stage, as the more important information contained in the passage is kept on the back burner.
After the Earth was restored to its original condition, God took dust and formed the first natural body that was to become Adam’s humanity (Gen. 2:7). After creating Adam's body, God THEN breathed into Adam the first breath of natural life Into that body. Scripture makes it clear that it was when the physical body that God created received its first breath of natural life, that Adam became a living soul. John 3: 6 makes it clear the bodies of the human race are reproduced by Man, but it is God who continues to create and place the soul into the body. The body that the soul of Adam was placed in, as well as the body that the soul of Eve was placed in were created instantaneously, requiring NO life support. However, the bodies of their off spring, and the human bodies of the generations of Man that followed, that are conceived, developed, and brought forth at birth require the life support of the mother UNTIL the body is brought forth at birth and receives its first breath of natural life. It is when the first breath is received that God (not Man) continues to create the soul (John 3: 6) and place it in the body that is brought forth at birth. Note that Scripture is clear that God the son came into this world at the First Advent; NOT nine months earlier when Mary, under the power of God the Holy Spirit, conceived what would BECOME His humanity. The need for our Lord's humanity to come into this world WITHOUT the human involvement of Joseph was to circumvent the passing down of the fallen sin nature that takes place at CONCEPTION (Psalms , and becomes a part of our total being as long as the soul remains in the physical body (Romans 7). If the humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ had been conceived with the involvement of ANY male human being, the resulting humanity would have not qualified as the "spotless" Lamb of God (John 1: 36). ALL Female human beings receive their own fallen nature when it passed down to what would become their humanity through their biological fathers at conception. However, women are NOT involved in the passing down of the fallen nature to their offspring. This is why Mary could (and was) used of God to bring about what would become the humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ, where as Joseph could not.
Note that after the birth of our Lord's humanity, Mary and Joseph did engage in normal marital relations, and in doing so, provided what would be the humanities of four sons and two daughters (), who like both Mary and Joseph, came into this world, spiritually dead, in need of salvation.
No one should diminish the contribution that Mary played in God's plan of salvation for the human race, but neither did who role cause her to be elevated to a position or function of deity. Scripture notes that May referred to God as , "my Savior", as well as her Lord (Luke 1: 47).
This divine solution to bring about the humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ must have totally frustrated the devil who undoubtedly thought he had won Phase Two with the Fall of Man.
Note that it was the same breath of natural life that God placed in ALL of the air breathing creatures (Genesis 7:22) of the Earth, but that God did not create a soul for any of the other air- breathing creatures that He created and placed here on Earth. All natural creatures serve a purpose here on Earth, but only Man was/is given a soul. Having a soul with an eternal destiny is what distinguishes Man from all the other air-breathing creatures of the Earth.
Adam’s body, in its created condition, had the capacity to physically live on indefinitely (Genesis 3: 22). This potential was divinely terminated by God after the Fall of Man (Gen. 3: 23- 24). The inevitable physical death for ALL of us, and the fact that it could take at any time for a variety of reasons, is one of the things that should motivate any thinking soul to settle the issue of WHERE he/she is going when he/she leaves this body behind. We bury the body, but the soul has moved on to one of two locations.
Without a soul, Man would be no more than an intelligent animal destined to come to the end of his existence when the
last breath of natural life (Luke 23:46) is taken. This IS the position that many lost souls have chosen to believe.
Physical death of the body is the mechanism that God uses to result in the departure of the soul from the body. Death of the body is NOT the end for the departed soul. Physical death results in an immediate change in location that was predetermined by the choices that the soul made while here on Earth.
Clouding the significance of the impact that our decisions will have as to WHERE and HOW each one of us IS going to experience eternity is a key part of the satanic strategy of the Angelic Conflict, here in the Church Age. The devil's strategy to accomplish this includes "blessings" as well as "adversity.
It is the soul that God created in the “likeness” of all three members of the Trinity, as revealed by the usage of the pronouns “Us” and “Our” of Genesis 1: 26. It is NOT our humanity that God created in their “likeness”. The humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ did not come into being for thousands of year AFTER Man was created in the likeness of God. The “likeness” being spoken of in Gen. 1:26 is referring to the never-ending life of the soul. The never-ending characteristic of the human is "like" God in that it will never end, but is unlike God in that the human soul has a starting point (Gen. 2: 7/John 3:6).
As of the Church Age, in order for the soul that God created to live in fellowship with Him, it MUST be born again (John 3: 5. 7), thereby receiving a regenerated spirit (Titus 3: 5) and the eternal life spoken of in John 3: 16). One is "born again" IF and when one chooses to believe in a presentation of the Gospel Message.
Although the eternal life of God and the soul life given to Man are similar in that neither one ever comes to an end, there is a major difference between the eternal life of God and soul life of Man that MUST be understood.
Eternal life, like the eternal God, never had a beginning and will never have an end. Soul life is a created form of life that begins when God (John 3:6b) creates each soul and places it in the body that comes forth at birth (Gen 2:7). The soul never dies, but departs the body when the body dies.
The departed souls of Adam, Eve, and ALL of their descendants are just as much "alive" now as they were on the day that God created them. Life after physical death of the body is NOT a question of if, but a matter of WHERE and HOW the soul will spend ALL of eternity future, that has NO end.
Man reproduces the physical bodies for the next generation, but and inserting of the soul is the Work of God. This distinction is clearly outlined in John 3: 6. Likewise, it is the Work of God (Titus 3:5) that regenerates the dead human spirit with which we all come into this world.
Needless to say, religion has come up with a host of things that Man can do or refrain from doing that will supposedly impact where and how a departed soul will experience eternity. Scripture says otherwise.
The specific details and circumstances surrounding the specific body that God chose to place the soul of Adam in, reveals much about the individual plan that God had for Adam, and the part that he was to play in the “big picture” or master plan that God has for human race. This is equally true of each one of us. Our biological parents may or may not have had a baby in mind when what would become our humanity was produced, but the creation and placement of our soul into the specific body was a part of God's plan for our lives.
The humanity that Adam and the woman (later called Eve) received did not come from biological parents, as did ours. Nor did either Adam or the woman (Eve) come into this world with a sin nature. What they were given, as are we, is the free will to make moral choices for or against God and or the things of God to the extent that such things were revealed to them.
In their created status, Adam and the woman were three-dimensional beings consisting of a physical body that had biological life, a soul that had everlasting life, and a human spirit that was spiritually alive that enabled them to be in perfect fellowship with God, their Creator.
There was a change in the form of beings that Adam and the woman were at creation and the beings that they would become after the Fall. This "change" is passed down (Psalms 51:5) to the generations of Man . As of the Fall of Man, each human being would come into this world with a physical body that the parents reproduce (John 3: 6b); a soul that God creates (John 3: 6a), but with a DEAD human spirit. I order to live in the presence and environment of God upon departing the body, each soul MUST (John 3:3) individually be (spiritually) born again.
As in the case of Adam and Eve, the creation and the placement of the soul remained in the hands of God (John 3:6b), and continues to take place at birth (Gen. 2:7) when the body simultaneously receives its first breath of natural life.
Note that the fact that the soul does not come into the picture until birth does not mean that the intentional destruction of a developing fetus has a green light. At the same time, Scripture should not be "added to- Prov. 30: 6)" when debating moral issues, as this will only aid the enemy when such concepts turn out to be unsubstantiated in Scripture.
The humanity (with one significant *exception Luke 1: 31, 35) received by of all the generations of Man that came from Adam and Eve would be the result of the biological reproduction activity (John 3: 6a) that God gave to Man for that purpose. Artificial insemination is among the means by which Man can reproduce a human fetus. Regardless of how the process is initiated, it still requires sperm that that is the physical source through which the sin nature in passed down to the next generation at the point of conception (Psalms 51: 5). Medical science and techniques may very well develop human engineering to the point that Man may eliminate or greatly reduce many of the physical ailments that are genetically reproduced, but Man, apart from God, will never be able to do anything about his greatest need (the regeneration of the his dead spirit-Titus 3: 5). Regardless of genetic or physical experience, every b-o-d-y has an appointed date with death when the soul departs. Adam lived for 930 years (Gen. 5: 5) on this Earth, in order to complete the divine purpose for which God created him, whereas the life span of the humanity that the Lord Jesus Christ took upon Himself was terminated after completing the plan of God (John 19: 30) that took 30-33 years. It is NOT how long we live here on Earth that matters, but what we do with the time that we are given. Only the body dies. The soul lives on forever.
The one *exception to this spiritually dead status being passed down was the type of humanity that God Son had to receive and to preserve in order to become and be sacrificed as the Lamb of God in atonement of the world’s sin debt.
Later on, in the course of this study we will examine the many attempts that were made by Satan and the Ephesians 6:12 forces of to prevent the type of humanity our Lord needed from materializing, and the plots to destroy our Lord's humanity before the divine purpose for it could be fulfilled on the cross.
All earthly non-human creatures are like Man in that the first of their species were also a result of the creativity of God (Gen. 1: 20-22). Each species received a brain and a body with natural life that were designed to be compatible for the environment in which each species placed.
God placed the man (Adam) in the Garden that He planted (Genesis 2:8) and gave the man the responsibility of cultivating and maintaining it.
God also gave Man (Adam) the one and only Law that had to be obeyed, and that was not to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In doing so, God made it clear to Adam that if the fruit of that tree were eaten, that he would “die” on that very day (Gen. 2:17).
Well, how is it them, that Adam lived on and did not die until he was 930 years old? The answer is that they type of death that God spoke of and that Adam did experience ON THE DAY HE SINNED, was SPIRITUAL death.
Ignorance of the truth will always afford the devil and the Ephesians 6:12 forces of evil opportunities to deceive each and every one of us. In the woman's (Eve) case, the devil took it one step further and convinced her that not only would she and Adam not die (Gen. 3: 4), but that the environment that she and Adam had would actually be improved by the knowledge they would receive if the fruit was eaten (Gen. 3: 5).
Adam lived on for centuries (Gen. 5: 5) after he and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. This is does not contradict the foretold consequences of disobedience (Gen. 2: 17), but is evidence in itself that the “death” that God spoke of taking place on the day that the fruit was eaten, was “spiritual” in nature and was referring not directly referring to physical death. Physical death would be one of the long-term consequences of Adam's sin (Gen. 3: 22-24), but the death that God foretold and Adam encountered ON THE DAY he sinned was spiritual in nature.
A point that is often over-looked here, is that either Adam failed in his capacity of spiritual head and teacher in his role as husband, or Eve failed in her capacity as a student. This law forbidding the consumption of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil was given to Adam before Eve was created. Either Adam did not teach Even well, or he did
and the woman (Eve) rejected it! Refusing to teach; refusing to be taught, or choosing not to apply what one has been taught will always end in some form of destruction or loss.
The deception and choice to eat of the forbidden fruit, and the deliberate sin of Adam resulted in the breach of the relationship and the fellowship (Gen. 3: 24) that Adam and the woman had with God before the Fall.
This separation from God is what the theological term “spiritual death” is all about. Spiritual death does not mean the termination of its existence, but a continuation of its existence while separated in a relationship with God. We come into this world spiritually dead as a result of this condition having been passed down to our humanity when it was conceived (Psalms 51: 5), and became a part of our whole being at birth. Reinforcing this status is the fallen nature that is characteristically hostile towards God and/or the things of God. If not born gain, we will leave this world in the same spiritually dead status with which we entered it, regardless of how much human good we produce or how many "religious" alternatives we embrace. Those who leave this world spiritually dead are destined to spend all of Eternity in what the Bible calls the "lake of fire (Rev. 20: 13, 15)."
The origin, consequence, and the ONE AND ONLY cure for spiritual death is a critical point of doctrine to master. Such things explain why it takes the (Titus 3: 5) regeneration of the dead human spirit to restore the relationship and the fellowship that Man lost at the Fall. This regeneration can not be earned, secured,or retained through good human deeds, behavior, or "religious" ritual(s). The devil is well aware of this and is why he promotes such alternatives.
This regeneration is the automatic and exclusive work of God the Holy Spirit that takes place at the moment of salvation when one places his/her personal faith in the Person and the Work of the Lord Jesus Christ (Titus 3:5).
There was only ONE ritual that was established for Church Age believers to participate in, and that was/is the celebration
of the Lord's Supper, aka Communion. This ritual is for the expressed (1Cor. 11:24, 25) purpose of bringing into
remembrance (not to reproduce) the Person and the Work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Scripture does teach that neglect
or disrespect of this ritual can result in physical illness and physical death (1Cor. 1: 30).
One "neglects" the celebration of the Lord's Supper (Communion) through non-participation (1Cor. 1: 24, 25). One
disrespects the celebration of the Lord's Supper (Communion) by not preparing (1Cor. 11:28) him/her to receive it , OR by
going through the motions without focusing on what the elements represent (1Cor. 11: 27).
Needless to say, much deception in the form of false teaching(s) and practice(s) have evolved over the course of Church
History, and the devil as not been lacking when it comes to capitalizing on the opportunities that such false
Romans 3:28 teach that the wages of sin is death. There are three forms of death that can be the result of sin. It is important for advancing disciples to know when Scripture is referring to each one.
The first form of death that Man incurred as a result of sin was spiritual death. Spiritual death is separation from a personal relationship with God. The status of being spiritually dead is passed down to all of the generations of Man at the moment of conception (Psalms 51:5). Accordingly, ever since the Fall of Man, we all come into this world spiritually dead and in need of the Titus 3:5 regeneration of our dead human spirit. Being spiritually dead is an inherited condition that becomes a part of our being when the soul that is created by God (John 3: 6b) is placed in the humanity (Gen. 2:7) that was reproduced by our parents. The ONE and ONLY cure for spiritual death is the regeneration of the our DEAD spirit through the Work of God the Holy Spirit. As of the Church Age, this regeneration (Titus 3: 5) automatically takes place in the unseen spiritual realm when one chooses to BELIEVE in a presentation of the Gospel Message.
The second form of death that can be the result of sin is physical death. This is not to say that when everyone
dies it is the direct result of the sin(s) that the departed one has committed. Ever since the fall, there is an appointed time
for every individual to die, regardless of how humanly good or evil that person is/was.
IF and when physical death is the direct result of engaging in sin, it can take place over a period of time for such sins as poor stewardship of the body we received. IF and when physical death is the result of sin, it can also take place immediately as in the cases of Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5). Physical death, as a result of sin, is the severest form of divine discipline (Hebrews 12:6) that a person can receive while here on Earth. There are times when the death of one person is the means of divine discipline for someone else (2Sameul 12: 14, 15).
There is nothing unfair about any one of us being called to serve the plan of God in any way that God ordains.
God did not create us for Him to fulfill our temporal desires, but for us to glorify Him by fulfilling His! One of the areas
that belongs to God is the length of time that each one of us has been ordained to receive in order to fulfil the plan of God. As noted earlier, Adam's natural life span covered 990 years; the Lord Jesus Christ covered 30-33 years, and many others were called Home in as early as infancy, after accomplishing the divine purposes that God ordained.
The third form of death that can be the result of sin is temporal death. This form of death takes place during the
Church Age dispensation in which we are presently living. Temporal death is a state of being when a born again
believer is out of fellowship (2Cor. 12: 14) with God due to a known sin that has not been confessed (1John 1: 9) or
forsaken (John 8:11), and is therefore incapable of producing ANY divine good (John 15:5). In a state of temporal
death, such a believer can produce the "dead works" of religion and/or human good, but such things are of no
value in the spiritual realm and will be totally rejected at the 1COr. 3: 121-15 evaluation of deeds.
"...apart (out of fellowship) from Me, you (the born again believer) can do n-o-t-h-I-n-g (John 15: 5 NASB italics mine).
* * *
We are not told how long Adam was on the Earth before God created the first woman, later known as Eve. Even though one event immediately (or shortly thereafter) follows another in a passage of Scripture, it does not necessarily reveal the amount of time that passed. The classic example of this is found in the first two verses (Gen. 1: 1 &2) of what we now refer to as the Bible. Keep in mind that sentence, verse, and chapter divisions were NOT included in the scroll format on which the original transcripts were first composed. Such divisions of Scripture was the work of the translators of original transcripts.
What we are told is that when the time arrived, God created the first female humanity from a rib that was removed from Adam (Gen. 2: 21: 22).
The divine role and purpose for the creation of woman was for the woman was and is to be a helpmate (Gen. 2:18) for
her husband. (1Cor. 11:9) reiterates this point. Note that this principle applies to married woman and applies to her
relationship that she has (or should have) with her husband. Female believers of the Church Age are NOT required to
be married, but if they choose to be married, they are under the marital authority of their husbands. Their submission
or rejection of that authority is one of the ways in which they either glorify or dishonor God in the presence of oberving
angels (1 Cor. 11:10) on a moment to moment, daily basis.
Male believers are accountable to God for they way in which they administer the marital authority and responsibility that they have
been given. Failure on the part of either the husband or woman does not justify disobedience to God on the part of the other spouse. Needless to say, the family unit is one of key fronts in the battlefield of the Angelic Conflict in every dispensation of the Church Age. It is an area that the devil has, in more recent history, experienced great success here in the United States. The declining society in which we are presently living is the result.
We are not told how long a period of time that Adam and the woman enjoyed the perfect environment and fellowship that they experienced with God and with each other before the Fall of Man. What we do know is that the stage was being set by the devil when he was able to engage in conversation with the devil. Listening to the devil (or those who promote his agenda) will get us into trouble sooner or later.
Because of the hostile, fallen, nature in all of us (Romans 7), we are more vulnerable that was Adam and Eve. Eve was deceived and Adam knowingly sinned, even though they had not yet received the fallen nature that took place AFTER the FALL. The fallen nature in ALL of us predisposes us to be in agreement with much of what the devil has to say. Choosing between listening to and/or to responding to the self-centered desires of the sin nature that pleases ourselves and listening to and responding to the God is what the spiritual combat of the Angelic Conflict is all about.
The devil and his Eph. 6: 12 forces of evil will do all they can to dissuade us from listening to and applying the Word of God, but it is still ultimately our own choices to make. Sometimes we give the devil more credit that we should. By listening to the voice of our OWN self-centered, fallen nature, we can self-justify just about anything that God labels as sin WITHOUT any encouragement from the devil.
The devil was, and remains to be. well aware that the conclusion of the Church Age means the execution of the impending sentence awaiting him and the fallen angels (Matt. 25: 41/Rev. 20:10).
The devil is equally aware that the "end" of the Church Age is dependent on the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matt. 24: 14). The fulfillment of the Great Commission involves the proclamation of the Gospel to spiritually dead souls, and the making of disciples (students and appliers of the Word of God) out of those who are born gain (John 3: 5, 7). Not only is the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matt. 28: 19, 20) what brings the greatest glory to God during the Church Age, it is what brings the devil closer and closer to the day when he is tossed into the lake of fire (Rev. 20: 10).
It has been part of the devil's strategy to have the Church change its focus from executing the marching orders that it was given in the Great Commission by involving itself is internal and external activities that it was NEVER designed to entertain.
The devil was and is a master of deception and a seasoned veteran in this area of spiritual combat. His method of operation is to focus on what he perceives to be the immediate and long term needs and desires of the one he secretly hopes to destroy.
He was able to convince at least one third of the angels in Heaven to join him in his revolt, and has an even higher success rate at deceiving the human race (Rev. 12:9).
It seems incredible for the angels to have chosen to leave the benefits and environment of Heaven in order to exercise their own free will and independence. Yet, we as edified believers are no different when we choose to reject God and or the things of God in order to pursue our own desires.
Satan does not waste ammunition. Like a chess game, each move plays a part in the overall plan to succeed.
Satan knew the reality of principle of Habakkuk 1: 13, in that God could not look on sin in an approving manner,
let alone be in fellowship with sin or sinners. In order for the devil to win Phase Two of the Angelic Conflict, a wedge would have to be driven between God and Man that God created. The wedge was sin. The only way that the devil could achieve this was to influence the free will that God had given to Man to lean his way. By deceiving Eve into thinking that what she was doing would improve the environment for she and Adam, he succeeded. Adam was not deceived (1Tim 2: 14), but simply chose to favor his relationship with Eve (Gen. 3: 17) over his relationship with God. Seems like a no-brainer, but both male and female humans make choices that favor their personal relationships with family and friends all the time, disqualifying themselves from the life of discipleship (Luke 14: 26).
Sin is a willful act of either doing what God's Law(s) forbids, or to failing to do what God's Law(s) require.
Accordingly, before there could be a violation of God's law, there had to be a law in place.
The "law" forbidding the eating of the fruit from the tree of knowledge" was made known to Adam (Gen. 2: 17) BEFORE Eve was created. Eve had also been made aware the law, as she referenced it in the conversation she had with the serpent (devil). Note, however, that she added the act of merely touching it (Gen. 3: 3), to the law. This "adding to HIs Word (Prov. 30: 6)", I believe, was used by the devil to further his debate with Eve. BEFORE Eve ate the fruit, she would have first touched it by taking it into her hand. Then, after having experienced NO ill effect, was encouraged to go forward and eat it.
Either by covert observation or perhaps during the course of the conversation that he arranged between the serpent and the woman, the devil very likely perceived that the natural desire of a godly woman is to “help" her husband. As it has been said, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.
The devil undoubtedly observed that this desire of the woman to “help” could be used to the devil’s advantage if the woman could be convinced that by eating the forbidden fruit, she should be helping to bring some benefit to the world that she shared with her husband.
This unrestrained desire to be of help is one of the things that naturally predisposes women to be what the Bible means when it refers to the woman as being the weaker sex. Areas of weakness are areas in which we are either ignorant of or reject what God has to say. Doing things that we THINK are going to serve the needs of OTHERS will prove to be counter-productive if what we THINK differs from what God knows. The woman’s natural desire to help, especially when it involves people within her own personal periphery,
can become an impediment to what God wants to accomplish. Such “help”, at times, can get in God’s way!
Adam, like most men, had the flaw of pride and the accompanying willingness to bend the rules a little if that would enable him to be the one fulfill the plans and desires of his wife. At the time, there wasn’t much the devil could offer the Man that might turn his head, so he determined to focus his attack on Eve at her point of vulnerability.
The devil’s scheme was to arrange a conversation between the woman and the serpent. Perhaps she had never seen a serpent before, or at least one that was capable of conversing with her, that attracted her attention. In the perfect environment in the Garden of Eden, there was experiential reason for Eve to be in fear of harm.
Rather or not the conversation between the serpent and Eve was the only one, or if the one recorded was the one that finally tipped the scale of choicer we do not know.During the course of the conversation(s), the devil's plan called for the woman to be deceived into thinking she could improve their environment if the forbidden fruit were to be eaten. If successful, this would open the door for the Man to follow!
Note that there is a less popular interpretation of the Fall of Man passage (Gen. 3) that contends that the "tree" of the knowledge of good and evil is symbolic as is the "fruit" that is bears. Under this interpretation, the "tree" is the body of all evil thoughts and concepts, and that the "eating of its fruit" refers metabolizing (making it a part of one's soul structure) of the false information that would be (and was) offered by the devil. Promoters of this interpretation cite NEW TESTAMENT passages such as (Matt. 15: 11) where the Lord Jesus Christ notes that it is NOT what is physically taken into the mouth and digested that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth! The background of this verse makes it clear that what the Lord Jesus Christ was addressing was the ritual cleansing of the hands that the Pharisee practiced, and how they worshiped God in vain by, "teaching as doctrines the precepts of men (Matt. 15: 9 NASB)."
The Garden of Eden was a physical reality (Gen. 2: 8). of the knowledge of good and evil was a physical reality, as was the "tree of life" that had the potential of providing man with the means to physically live on indefinitely (Gen. 3: 22). As of the Fall, the resulting damge to the human race was done. Man was thrown out of the Garden so that Man could not (or no longer) eat of the tree of life that had the potential of providing Man with the means to live on indefinitely here on Earth (Gen. 3: 24).
These trees were among the many types of physical trees that God planted in the garden and instructed Adam to cultivate. This raises the question of why od would allow the means of Man's downfall to be there. The tree of knowledge of good and evil provided Adam (and later Eve) with the logistical means to overtly express their CHOICE of obedience and/or disobedience. ANYONE can refrain from "robbing a bank" if there is no bank to rob! The nature of the Angelic Conflict calls for there to be such scenarios in which Man was/is FREE to make REAL choices.
Real choices must have real blessings or consequences attached, or the whole scenario is a farce. This explains why so much evil is allowed to take place here in the devil's (Luke 4: 6) world.
What the proponents of BOTH camps (literal vs. symbolic) will agree on is that Adam and Eve were provided with the means to choose between what God had to say, and what Satan had to say. Eve was deceived and Adam knowingly chose to join in what he knew was sin, favoring his relationship with Eve over his relationship with God.
The devil is not an adversary to be under estimated, but he does not have the omniscience (all knowledge), the
omnipresence (being everywhere and anywhere at the same time), nor the omnipotence (almighty power) of God.
There are only a few instances when the devil himself is found doing his own diabolical work (Matthew 4). He usually prefers to conceal his true identity, involvement, and motivation by using or appearing to be someone (2Cor. 11:14) or something (Gen 3:1) else.
Covert observation of human activity is an essential part of spiritual warfare, just as recognizance missions are a significant part of conventional warfare in the natural realm.
After covertly gathering the information he needed to develop a feasible plan of attack, the devil was ready to make the first move in Phase of the Angelic Conflict.
The devil’s first move was to have the serpent, functioning as his spokesperson, engage in a conversation with the woman.
To this day, believers are admonished to be aware of the source of all information placed in front of them (Luke 8: 18), and even more careful of what information they choose to entertain. This includes the information that is conveyed to him from his pulpit of choice. The Bible has been misused by bigots and politically motivated individuals and groups in order to self-justify many forms of evil and agendas that have got NOTHING to do with God or the things of God. The devil himself has put a "different spin" on what God has said from the very beginning of his interaction with the human race Gen. 3). The devil's spokespersons continue to do this today, and it is only getting to worse as we approach the end of the Church Age (1Tim. 4: 1).
Believers are bombarded every day with all kinds of ideas that are designed to take our attention away from God and things of God and to consider the things that promote the devil’s agenda.
It is by no coincidence that attacks on authority figures, traditional values, marital and parental authority, family structure, and the Bible are frequent objects of ridicule and “humor” while atheistic viewpoint, agnostic viewpoint, human viewpoint, fornication, adultery, “alternative” lifestyles, casual sex, role reversal, and many other forms of evil and immorality are promoted in much of the “entertainment”, music, and art in the world in which we live.
Once a one-on-one connection with the woman was achieved, the devil’s next move was to have the serpent contradict a point of Scripture (Gen. 2: 17).
It is ignorance (Hosea 4: 6) or rejection of the Word of God that opens the door to apostasy in the life of a believer. Spiritual Ignorance is not knowing the, "mind of Christ (1Cor. 2: 16 NABS)" on any given subject. God's Word (the Bible) can be "rejected" by choosing not to learn of it (Heb. 10: 25), or by dismissing what it has to say on any given subject.
Christian “religion” consists of all that Man has added to Scripture by way of doctrine or practice that are erroneously promoted as being necessary in order to obtain and retain salvation. These practices and rituals are not only false, but are blasphemous in nature as they project faith and faith alone in the Person and the Work of the Lord Jesus as being insufficient to receive and/or to retain salvation.
The inability to discern what is of Man made religion and what is spiritual is a serious flaw in the life of any born again believer.
The practice of any or all of the religion in the world will not result in the regeneration (Titus 3:5) of one’s spiritually dead human spirit, nor will it result in the receiving or retaining of as much as a millisecond of eternal life needed to live with God for all of eternity.
If the truth be known and all of the activity and rituals that can not be Biblically substantiated were to be removed from many sectors of the "Christian" Community at large, the resulting worship services would be barely recognizable. It is a part of the devil's strategy to see to it that the truth NOT be made known.
Many things that are held in high esteem by Man in the "religious" realm are detestable in the sight of God (Luke 16: 15). Such things
include all of the acts attempting to make one SELF right with God (Isaiah 64:6).
The Bible (Proverbs 30: 6) warns that those who add to what the Word of God actually says will be exposed as liars, but in the meantime great damage can take place in the spiritual lives of those who follow their lead.
When the truth concerning the non-Biblical roots of “religion” is revealed, the individuals and denominations that promoted them stand to lose credibility in the eyes of its followers. Once introduced into their sector of the Christian Community, such man make ideas and traditions are defended as if they were from the Bible itself. Like the Pharisees of old and those that follow them, they become the blind leading the blind, with the end result being that they all end up in the pit (Matt. 15: 14).
Satanically endorsed, human attempts to bring false teaching and false practices into the Church of the Bible was a problem right from the start, as was foretold by many of the founding fathers.
When false doctrines are exposed, the leadership at that time has two choices.
One is to concede its error(s) and return to its Biblical roots. The other is to deny its error(s) and persecute those who bring them to light as heretics. Unfortunately it is the latter option that is usually taken.
The devil did not miss the opportunity to capitalize on the woman’s “addition” to what God had said, concerning the forbidden fruit. The woman (Eve) told the serpent that God forbade she and Adam to "touch” the fruit (Gen. 3: 3), when in fact, God only told Adam that he (they) was not to eat it.
Of course Satan knew better, but was glad to have woman continue to hold onto this false "addition", as the devil saw it as the means to promote his agenda. After having taken the fruit into her hand (touching it) and experiencing no immediate harm, undoubtedly encouraged her to go all the way with the hope of receiving its "benefits” that the devil promoted (Gen. 3: 5).
The devil, I am sure, did not miss this slight deviation conveyed to the serpent in the garden, no more than he missed any of the opportunities that the Christian Community as a whole has provided him with during the course of “Church” history.
Mastering a precise knowledge of what the Word of God actually says in the original language(s) that God the Holy Spirit chose to inspire the human authors to use is essential if one is to identify the seeds of evil before they take root!
At whatever point the Word of God is ignored, contradicted, perverted, or added to, the seeds of deception
An advancing disciple must be careful that he does not become so arrogant in that he is beyond the need to make 2Cor. 13: 5 examinations to determine of he/she is "in the faith". Unless one reaches the point of having attained all the knowledge (Yeah, right!) and applies ALL that he knows to ALL that he does (Yeah, right again!), there will always be the need to identity and to make the required adjustments that such assessments generate. The phrase, in the faith of 2 or. 13: 5 is not referring to having kept or lost salvation. The epistle that we now refer to as the New Testament Book of 2 Corinthians was written to BELIEVERS in the city of Corinth who had already been born again and had forever settled the issue of their salvation. The SELF examination spoken of in 2Cor. 13: 5 speaking of living a lifestyle consistent with who they ARE in Christ.
Adam and Eve were both believers at the time of the FALL. If they had been functioning "in the faith", Eve would not have been deceived and Adam would have not chosen to willfully sin. Eve would have discontinued the conversation with the serpent as soon as it contradicted what God had to say. Adam would not have been put in a position to choose between his relationship with the woman and God. Satan's plan would have been shutdown.
In the course of the conversation that the serpent had with the woman, the woman’s precise knowledge of what God had actually said to her husband proved to be deficient. Just how clearly Adam had relayed to his wife what God had told him is not revealed to us in Scripture. The woman (Eve) had not been created until after Adam had received the law from God! Was it Adam or Eve who added the don't touch to the don't eat law? We do not know for certain, but we do know that it was Eve who expressed the concept to serpent (Gen. 3: 3). In either case, it is clear how even what seems to be an insignificant detail (touching) being added to the Word of God can be used of the devil.
In this apostate period of the Church Age in which we live, many women do not have an edified believer for a husband. What should be the first concern of "Christian" woman when pursuing or accepting a marriage proposal is often given secondary thought.
In this “liberated” oriented society in which we live, woman are encouraged to develop their own mind on many issues and to reject the marital authority of the their husbands. The devil uses this attitude and to undermine the marriage and family structure that He designed, and to encourage wives to resist the role of spiritual leader that he has given to her husband and father of whatever offspring that they may bring into the world.
Christian husbands and fathers, in their divinely appointed capacity as head of the home are accountable for the quantity and the quality of the doctrine that they take in and make available to the members of his household.
Many times it is not until AFTER the kids are raised that the parent becomes a believer or enters into the post salvation life of discipleship. The good news is that it is never too late to accomplish the primary spiritual goal (presenting the Gospel) to an offspring at ANY age, or to share one's developing knowledge of Bible Doctrine.
God's evaluation of one's parenting is not based on the same criteria as the world (Isa. 55: 8, 9). Were the kids presented with the Gospel? If born again, were they presented with accurate Bible doctrine for the identification and execution of the TRUE post salvation spiritual life? Whatever else a parent can do is secondary. "For what will a man be profited, if he gains (or is given) the whole world, and forfeits his soul....(Matt. 16:26NASB italics mine)."
Again, its never too late.
Most of what parents provide their offspring with has at least earthly value, setting the stage for their eventual entry into the devil's world. As great as such gifts from parents may be, most of these temporal blessings but will prove to be no more than, "hay, wood, and straw (1Cor. 3: 12-15 NASB), destined for fire, at the evaluation of the believer's deeds in Heaven.
It is amazing how far (extra jobs, double mortgages, financial investments) "Christian" parents will do to provide such temporal blessings to their children, yet invest relatively little or no time and finances into the spiritual lives of these same children. Some would say that at least some of the motivation is to feed the pride of the parent(s)!
Note that I said it was/is the "presenting" of the Gospel Message and the "sharing" of Bible Doctrine that is the mark of a "godly" parent. The decision to believe the Gospel Message and to pursue the true post (after) salvation spiritual life are choices that each offspring has to make for themselves. God's plan for salvation does NOT offer any FAMILY coverage. Once the information (Gospel Message/post salvation doctrine) has been presented or shared, the only part that a parent can then do is to lead (the children) via example.
Like a runner in a torch relay race, no one, be it a pastor, a parent, or friend can pass along to others what he has not first secured for himself.
A spiritually edified head of the home is well aware of the inherent resistance (Matthew 13:57) that an edified head of the house will receive. The wife and family members are accountable to God for their response to the doctrine that is made available to them via the head of the house that He ordained for that purpose.
The (Prov. 22:6) principle of a child not departing from the truths taught and enforced by parents is not only contingent on parents part to provide it, but on the part of the child to choose to apply it! As the old saying goes, you can lead the horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
Unfortunately, as a result of early life victories by the devil and the Ephesians 6:12 forces of evil, it is not until after many marriages have gone sour and/or the kids are already raised that many men and women finally get their own spiritual act together and are qualified to edify others.
Accordingly, many believers come to serve God and the things of God in the capacity of grandparents (Deut. 14:9) much more effectively than they served God in the capacity of parents.
* * *
The point concerning the “touching” of the fruit may seem trivial, but I believe it contributed to the deception of the woman. Upon "touching" the fruit and incurring no ill effects for having done so, greatly encouraged her to go all the way and eat it, as well. The serpent not only assured the woman (Eve) that she and Adam would not die (Gen. 3:4) if the fruit was eaten, but in fact, the environment that she and husband were experiencing could be greatly improved (Genesis 3:5).
The deceived woman (Genesis 3:6) fell for trap that Satan had set and ate of the forbidden fruit. She, in turn, gave the forbidden fruit to Adam.
Adam listened to the voice of his wife and ate of the fruit (Gen. 3: 17), even though he had not been deceived(1Tim. 2: 14). Adam chose his relationship with the woman over what he knew to be the right thing to do, and in doing so, willfully sinned by eating the fruit.
When God confronted him with the sin, he tried to put the blame on the woman, contending that it was she who gave him the fruit to eat. Eve, in turn, blamed the affair on the serpent, acknowledging that the serpent had been used to deceive her (Genesis 3:9-13).
God did not accept ANY of the excuses given and penalized all three (Gen. 3: 14-1).
Note that it was not the fruit itself that appealed to the woman, but the alleged “benefits” (Gen.3:5) she had been deceived into believing that the eating of the fruit would provide.
As a result of Adam’s deliberate sin, several things took place, some of them affording the devil and the Ephesians 6:12 forces of evil some strategic advantages as Phase Two of the Angelic Conflict continued.
The deed to planet Earth was recovered (Luke 4:6), and to the extent that the parameters of Angelic Conflict allow, once again became the domain of the devil with the power to rule it!
Man entered into a state of spiritual death, severing the fellowship and relationship with God that Adam and the woman had experienced prior to the Fall.
As of the Fall, spiritual death entered into the human environment. The spiritually dead condition would from that DAY on be passed down to the generations of Man at the point of conception (Psalms 51: 5). It was spiritual death, and not physical death that God spoke of when he announced what the consequences would be if the forbidden fruit was eaten.
Not only did Man lose his third dimension that allowed him to have an intimate relationship with God, he received a fallen nature in its place that is hostile (Romans 8:7) towards God and the things of God. This fallen nature would also be passed down to the generations of Man, as well. This scenario provided the devil and the Ephesians 6:12 forces of evil with a resource and means to engage in spiritual warfare that did not exist prior to the Fall of Man.
The human race, at the time of the Fall consisted of two persons, Adam and the woman (to be later named Eve-Gen. 3: 20).
As a result of the Fall, they were no longer three-dimensionally functioning beings. The human spirit that enabled them to be
in fellowship with God “died” ON THEY DAY they sinned, just as God had said (Gen. 2: 17) they would.
The biological life of their humanities and the never-ending life of their souls continued to live on, but their spiritual dimension was dead. In their soul life, Adam and Eve (and every soul that God has ever created or will create) are as much alive NOW as the day of their creation.
The ONLY thing that physical death changes is one's location and environment. For believers, this change is for the better, but for the unbeliever it is forever worse.
The natural life of Adam’s humanity lived on for centuries, departing this world at the age of 930 (Gen. 5:5). Adam's soul never dies. At the time of Adam’s earthly departure, the natural, biological life of his humanity died, but his soul with never-ending life continued. The separation of body and soul is an event that awaits every soul. What makes this event different, is WHERE any given soul GOES to when the event takes place. Where the soul does NOT go, is into any body bag. morgue, grave, tomb, cemetery, funeral parlor, urn, or casket , etc.. Such things accommodate the body that will sooner or later turn to human dust (Gen. 3: 19). The soul immediately moves on to its eternal destiny. When it is the soul of a believer that departs, he/she is in Heaven (2Cor. 5:8) in an interim body (2Cor. 5: 2). Moses, whose body was buried by the Lord (Deut. 34: 5, 6) appeared on the Earth in such a body (Matt. 17: 3). The reuniting of the soul of a believer with the body that is raised in resurrection form at the Rapture is accomplished by the power of God. There is no Earthly event or post mortem activity of ANY kind that can change the location or alter the environment of a departed soul.
Departed souls of believers are in Heaven awaiting the Rapture (2Cor. 5: 8). Departed souls of unbelievers are in the Torments section of Hades, awaiting the lake of fire (Rev. 20: 13, 15). The distinction between believers and unbelievers is based on John 3: 18.
Scripture speaks of the four types of bodies for the human soul. The first is a "tent" (2Cor. 5: 1a), making reference to the physical body indwelled here on Earth. The second in a "building"(2Cor. 5: 1b), referring to the interim body that is indwelled by departed souls in Heaven awaiting the Rapture. The third is a mansion (John 14:2 KJV), referring to our resurrected bodies in which believers receive at the Rapture. Note the progression of these terms. The tent is relatively temporary and least durable. The building is more durable, but not permanent. The mansion is both glorious and indestructible.
The fourth is some type of bodily form (Luke 16: 24) in which those in Hades indwell while awaiting Judgment Day for unbelievers and being tossed into the lake of fire (Rev. 20: 13, 15).
As of the Fall, the natural environment of the Earth was now subjected to its own process of death and decay (Romans 8:22).
Although the surface of the Earth would once again be devastated during the Great Flood that would take place during the days of Noah, the earth itself will continue to exist until its appointed time when, via divine design, it will melt away (2Peter 3: 10) via an intense heat source, and be replaced by a new one (Rev. 21:1).
After the Fall, Man was now faced what appeared to be in a real dilemma. Man sinned and was incapable (apart from God) of doing ANYTHING about it. God could not simply overlook the sin that brought Man down (Hab.). Divine justice requires that EVERY sin be accounted for and punished. So the question of the day was how was God going to have the sin of Man atoned for without compromising His own character? How was the "free will" of Man going to be used to bring about a victory for God in Phase Two of the Angelic Conflict? The answers to these questions are found in the Gospel Message. God the Son, who we know as the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ, through the power and function of God the Holy Spirit (Luke ), a body of humanity ( like Adam and the woman (Eve) had prior to the Fall) would be prepared for Him to indwell here on Earth (Heb. 10: 5).
While in that body, the Lord Jesus Christ would (and did) atone for the world's sin (1John 2: 2), with the exception (by divine design) for the sin of disbelief. Human souls who chose or choose to disbelieve in the Person and the Work of the Lord Jesus Christ would pay for that sin by spending ALL of eternity in what the Bible calls the lake of fire (Rev. 20: 15). Accordingly, EVERY sin of the Man was/will be accounted for, preserving the requirements of divine justice and the character of God. Those who believe in the Person and the Work of the Lord Jesus Christ received salvation on the basis of their trust and confidence in the Work that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished in their personal behalf. Note that although the Lord Jesus Christ made it possible for every soul to be saved (), it still required and requires the free will choice of each and every soul to respond to the Gospel Message to make it a personal reality.
All of the Old Testament rituals pointed to the Work of the "Savior" to come. In the timing of God, the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ was identified as "THE" promised Savior, who did in fact come on the scene and accomplish the atoning Work. Souls that were placed on the Earth prior to the disclosure of the complete Gospel Message, were accountable to God to the extent that He had made Himself and His plan known to each generation. Souls, who were placed on the Earth AFTER the Gospel Message was announced were and are accountable to God for their belief or disbelief in it (John 3: 18).
Many events had to take place over the course of human history to set for the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ to arrive here on Earth and complete His atoning Work on the cross. Such things will be the subject matter of the next few parts of our study.
In Genesis 3: 15, we read of what was then a future conflict that would take place during the course of human history,
involving the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman.
The serpent was the first of many agents that would join the ranks of the fallen angles that come to make up the Ephesians 6:12 forces of evil. The seed of the woman (Eve) are the generations of Man, from which the humanity that the Lord Jesus Christ would receive at the First Advent!
The enmity of Genesis 3:15 is the continuation of the Angelic Conflict that will continue through all of the
generations of Man.
