The PRIMARY reason that God gave the Ten Commandments and Books of the Law to the ancient Hebrews at the time that He did was to establish and maintain the type of society and personal life styles that would honor God, when they entered the Promised Land. The glorification of God has always been and will always be the purpose for the creation and existence of the human race. During the dispensation of the Church age
Compliance with these commandments would clearly distinguish themselves as unique among the nations that were in the land.
God established a theocracy in which the laws of God and the laws of the land were one in the same.
The Law went into great detail of how the Hebrews were to address violations of The Law, and how, when, where they were to worship the Lord.
Worship has n-o-t-h-i-n-g to do with obtaining or retaining salvation, but has e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g to do with the quality of one’s post salvation spiritual life.
Once saved, there is nothing that a person with his regenerated spirit (Titus 3:5) spirit can do or fail to do that can result in the loss of salvation.
At the same time, there IS much that a born again (John 3:3) believer can do or fail to do that diminishes the quality and the execution of his post salvation spiritual life.
Impeding the progress of one’s post salvation spiritual life is what the primary objective of the devil becomes once the battle for the salvation of the soul has been forever resolved.
If not to preserve one’s salvation, then what IS the purpose for the post salvation
The purpose of the post salvation spiritual life is to glorify God in the presence
of the fallen angels via a lifetime of discipleship.
Discipleship is the 24-7, moment to moment, process of learning, refining, and applying the
Word of God to the details of one’s daily life, no matter where one is or what one is doing.
Success is the post salvation life is what brings glory to God.
In addition, although disciples do not do (or refrain from doing) what they do in
order to be rewarded, either now or in the life to come. But never the less, but being rewarded
or forfeiting rewards at the 1Cor. 3: 12-15 evaluation is an event that awaits all born again believers.
Although salvation cannot be lost, rather or not this 1COr. 3: 12-15 event will be one of
rejoicing or regret is determined by one having learned of the purpose of the true post salvation
spiritual life, and the degree to which each INDIVIDUAL believer chooses to pursue it.
These rewards are eternal in nature, and must be distinguished from whatever temporal
(earthly) blessings or prosperity that one receives while here on Earth.
The mechanics by which one worships God differs from one dispensation to another. Both the
Ten Commandments and the sacrificial worship outlined in the Books of the Law reflected the
character and nature of God, and foreshadowed the NEED for, and the WORK of, the Lord Jesus
Christ that was to come.
Total compliance with The Law is not possible, and God has ordained the 1John 1:9
process to address post salvation sin that will inevitably be a part of the post
salvation life of Church Age believers.
Total compliance is not possible, and most who claim to be Christians will never come
even close to the point where they have learned (let alone obey) the more than
300 applicable commands of the New Testament.
It is only through a lifetime of discipleship that one comes to see what divine
viewpoint is concerning the definition of sin.
While acquiring a personal inventory of all the 300+, applicable, NEW TESTAMENT
commands is a lifelong endeavor, the filter-test of agape love is simple to use.
All the dos and don’ts of the 300+ New Testament can be summed up in just one
principle. We are to love God and others.
If we love God, we will have a desire to learn of God and the things of God and
make such things the bottom line for ALL the decisions that we make.
Love for others must first pass through the love of God test first, as no one, be it self or someone
else, is to be prioritized more than God (Luke 14:26). If we truly love others, we will not lie
about or to them; we will not betray them; we will not steal from them; we will not defraud them;
we will not misuse then; be unfaithful to them, or desire what is theirs, etc.
We will guard our mouths and speak words that edify.
We will examine these issues in greater detail when we come to the Church Age segment of
The rituals, rules, and regulations, revealed in the Ten Commandments and in the
Leviticus Law were/are to remain in full force until the purpose for them had been or will be
completed (Matthew 5:18).
Accordingly, some parts of the Old Testament will have application throughout all of human
history, while others, such as the forms of worship prescribed within, have already been fulfilled.
Violations of The Law could result in restitution, fines, and/or capital punishment, depending
on the nature and the availability of at least two eye witnesses to the event.
Eluding the grasp of the administration of justice under ANY earthly system of law
enforcement does not relieve the person(s) involved of divine discipline or retribution.
With the exception of the Lord Jesus Christ, no one on Earth has ever or will ever fully comply with
either the 10 Commandments of the Old Testament, or the more than 300 Commandments of the New
There are liars who would not steal. There are thieves who would not lie. There are murderers
who would not commit adultery, and there are adulterers who would not murder.
Pointing the finger at others who we feel have committed greater sin, in quantity or quality, is
a deception that may soothes our own conscience and self-justify ourselves, but does not fly with God.
James 2:10 teach that when any one of us breaks even one of the Laws of God, we stand as guilty as
the one who has broken them all. As a result, no one is in a position to point the finger of judgment
at ANY other person (John 8).
Parents, jurors, and governmental officials in their delegated positions of authority are executing
their duties when they enforce the laws or rules within their domain.
Such persons exceed this of delegated authority when they get personally involved; a common
mistake made by parents.
We do not all commit the same sin(s), but we all sin in one or ways, placing all of us in the same
stinking, sinking boat.
The administration of justice here on Earth requires that there be categories of crime, with an
appropriate punishment, partly based on how human viewpoint would rate the seriousness of
the event, but in the spiritual realm, sin is sin and ALL sin results in one or more forms of death
The original sin of Adam resulted in spiritual death. The spiritual death that he received on the day
he sinned is passed down to each generation. The ONE and ONLY Biblical remedy for the spiritual
death that we receive is the regeneration of our dead human spirit that takes place at the moment
of salvation (Titus 3:5).
Post salvation sin by born again believers result in temporal death. In a state of temporal death, born
again believers are out of fellowship (2Cor. 13:14) with God and therefore incapable (John 15:5) of
executing the TRUE post salvation spiritual life. Temporal death is resolved via confessing the sin(s)
to God (1John 1:9), and when necessary, the forsaking of the form of sin (John 8:11) if it has become
a part of one’s lifestyle.
True, the Church Age believers are not under “The Law”, but are called to be transformed to the
likeness of Christ (Romans 12:2); to learn of (2Peter 3:18) and comply (John 15:5/) with the more
than 300 Commandments found in the New Testament.
The identification and execution of the post salvation spiritual life is a POST (after) salvation activity
and has NOTHING to do with obtaining or retain salvation. This is what is meant when it is said that
Church Age believers are NOT under the Law.
During the earthly mission of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord’s enemies were always
trying to find some “violation” of The Law in order to discredit His ministry, and if possible, to
have Him, “cut off from God’s people”, a Biblical phrase that refers to capital
In the end, He was falsely convicted of blasphemy for having claimed to be God, but
even this finding had to be amended to have Him crucified by Roman authority.
It wasn’t too far into the Church Age that the devil used forces within the Church
to try to re-introduce The Law into the founding Church by promoting the FALSE
doctrine that contended that physical circumcision of male believers was
required for salvation.
Other “additives” endorsed by the powers of Man-made religion, would also find their
ways into the Christian Community, challenging the integrity of the Gospel and the Biblically
substantiated purpose for celebrating the Lord’s Supper (Communion).
The devil and the Ephesians 6:12 forces of evil will do anything that God allows them to do to
distract Church Age believers from learning of and properly applying the Word of God.
Accordingly, the devil and the Ephesians 6:12 forces of evil will encourage participating in
false rituals and practices of Man-made religion that either misidentify who the one a only
true God is, or the manner in which He desires to be worshipped in each dispensation.
The officiating priesthood, the Tabernacle, the Temples, and the altars and rituals of the Old
Testament have NO place or function in the Church Age.
Religion has done much to establish priests, altars, rituals, and similar products of
religion to replace what Scripture calls for during the Church Age.
Such activity often is accomplished by creating the false illusion that such things are a
continuation of what was established in ancient times.
What such things can be made to appear to be legitimate, they are in fact the result
of failing to acknowledge that their purpose had been fulfilled (Matthew 5:18),
and therefore have NO purpose or function in the Church Age.
Once accepted, such things provides the devil and the Ephesians 6:12 forces of evil
with the means to promote even more false doctrines and activity that in the course of time
has brought the Church to its present state of widespread apostasy (2Timothy 4:1)
Throughout the course of the Angelic Conflict, the devil produces either an alternative or
a perverted use of everything that God has created for His glory.
Part of this strategy is to produce a perverted version of what God did say (Genesis
3:1), as well as promote concepts (Genesis 3:5) and activities (Mark 7:7) as having come from
God that He never authorized or ordained.
The people of God were well aware of the fact that Moses was in communication with
God while on Mount Sinai (Exodus 20: 18-21) during the forty days that Moses was
away from them.
Never-the-less, the “people of God”, Moses’ absence and with the help of Aaron, produced an
alternative idol and had begun to worship it (Exodus 32).
Note that it was from the gold ear rings that were undoubtedly worn by the worshipers
of the moon gods of Egypt and given to the departing Hebrews (Exodus 12:35), that the gold
calf idol, symbolic of the moon gods of Egypt was produced (Exodus 32:2).
The “people of God”, with the assistance of Aaron made this idol and attributed their deliverance
from Egypt to the moons gods of Egypt (Exodus 32:4).
Whenever the devil has had success in the Angelic Conflict, it ALWAYS involves his ability to
influence the minds of God’s people, who by nature (Romans 8:7) have a tendency to go astray
and follow the age old path of previous generations (Romans 1: 8:32).
Beginning with the generation of Cush (Noah’s grandson), Satan has endorsed the development
of false religions, all of which establish some connection with a stellar object, be it the moon, our
sun, stars or planets.
This should not come to us as a surprise in light of the fact that God revealed the story of salvation
(or condemnation) of Man via the stellar universe. Satan has a long history of taking what God
created and putting a different spin on it for his own purposes.
The satanic endorsement and promotion of the moon gods within and among the people of God
can be traced throughout the Old Testament history of the ancient Hebrews.
This demonic influence was present during the early Church Age, and will be the force
of evil involved with the final attempt to destroy Israel in the end times, on its way to secure world
domination for Allah.
Following the dispersing of Man at the Tower of Babel, the moon god religions took on many
different names on a global level, whose concepts can be detected in many different cultures down
through the centuries.
In many cases, humans were venerated as being among these gods either during their
lifetimes here on earth or after.
At the time of Mohammad, there were some different moon gods, with some being
mediators of the primary moon gods.
In the 7th Century AD, the latest version of the moon god religions was announced and promoted
through Mohammad, who claimed to have gotten a message from an angel, unifying the moon god
religions by reducing the veneration of the moon gods to there being only one; Allah.
Allah, according to Mohammad, was the one and only true God, and one who would
eventually rule the world, calling for the elimination of anyone and everyone who would not
This established the seventh beast of Revelation, but was stopped at the Battle of Tours in 732 AD
in France, after acquiring occupying much land in the Middle East, Northern Africa, as it made its
move towards domination of the known world.
One of the Islamic concepts is that once something was under the domain of Allah, it
was then considered to be his possession, even if it were “temporarily” lost.
Accordingly, any land that is secured by Islam believers in the name of Allahremains the possession
of Allah, with the moral obligation of his people toretake it by ANY means, if it should be lost for ANY
The elimination of the present day nation of Israel from the heart of the land that was the domain
of the seventh beast, is right at the top of the, “the things to do list” of the 8th beast of Revelation.
The 8th Beast of Revelation is a revival of the 7th beast that received a deadly blow at the Battle of Tours,
but has been “brought back to life”, here in the end times in fulfillment of Biblical prophecy!
The presence of “infidels” (Jews) or any of the infidels’ allies (USA/UN forces) within the geographical
area that had been secured by the 7th beast of Revelation, up to the Battle of Tours, will NEVER
be accepted, and in fact will be what brings on the Battle of Armageddon and the manifestation of
the Second Advent at their appointed times during the End Time.
Satan does not have the attribute of omnipresence (being everywhere and anywhere at
the same time), but has a demonic force (Ephesians 6: 12) of spiritual individuals under his
command that, to the extent that God allows, has influence over those in political and religious
leadership positions on a global level.
Born again believers of the Church Age cannot be demonically possessed, as they are
what make up the temple of God (1Cor. 3:16) here in the devil’s world. Never-the less,
born again believers certainly can be demonically influenced (1Timothy 4:1) when they allow
themselves to be deceived in the realm of spiritual warfare (Eph. 6: 12).
One of the main declarations of the Islamic faith is that Allah is the one true God,and that the
deity (divine nature) of the Jesus Christ did and the Person of God
the Holy Spirit never even existed.
A statement to this effect is what is written within the Islamic structure that
Mohammad built and I still standing in Jerusalem in the area where the Temple of
God once stood. This is what makes it the “abomination of desolation” spoken of Scripture,
and identifies Mohammad as the False Prophet of Revelation.
The “8th Beast” of Scripture is not a single nation or even an empire as we would think of one
being today, but is a unifying force that unites the peoples of the Arab world to serve the agenda
of Allah, even though the nations within the area of the beast are politically independent of each
An accurate understanding of these things has nothing to do with being “saved”, but have everything
to do with having an understanding of where we are in the timeline that God has designed for the
Distinguishing what is true from what is false and what is spiritual and what is religious, is
a key element in the life of a disciple.
We will examine these issues when we come to the end times segment of our study.
For now, as it pertains to the focus on the current segment of our study, it will suffice for us to keep in mind that the making of the idol and the worship of the moon gods that it represented was what took place when Moses was away on Mount Sanai, receiving The Ten Commandments.
